can i install 3 10' in my back dash board?
hello,
i want to swap my kicker 15' out and put some 2 12' JL (w3 or w6) or 3 10' JL (w3 or w6) on my back dashboards.. anyone has any idea, how much it will cost???
i found out that 15' in my car is very sloppy and it's kindda 1/4 sec. late when it hits. and i know it's all different bass with different cars.
my installer customed a box and he said ls400 is hard to get bass to the front that's why he took out a factory sub and FACED THE 15' SUB DOWN toward the ground.(kindda make sense..) and i am still wondering if this is right installation....???
what's the best 10' that i can push with my ppi 2600?
ps> i am selling my almost new (used only a month) kicker Solobaric sub L7 with a MDF custom box. i live near LA, CA. please pm me if you are interested.

The best shop here charges $500 for that. I got a quote before doing mine:

What do you mean he faced a sub down? you mean cone inside the box (Inverted)? That makes no difference whatsoever though.

Before you go out and spend $500 on this conversion, audition other subs. Transient response, overhang, etc... have a little to do with sub size and a lot to do with the sub and box that it's in. I'm sure that if you look around, you'll be able to find a 15" sub that you enjoy and save yourself quite a bit of money.

I'd be tempted to try another box before you switch subs, your problems could very well lie more with the box than the sub itself. Playing with the box size could do alot for you.
Also, is the box built so the sub is pointing down towards the floor of the trunk? If so, I'd try turning it so it's facing up or back if possible, that might help alot too.

I built a box for a 1st gen GS300 a few years ago that is too crazy to describe. But I basically built a box with 3-JL 12's and added a tunnel to the box that led to the rear deck. I cut away some excess metal in the deck. It was slamming!! I had a habit of getting the customers more than they could handle.
