Antenna
Hi Everyone,
I'm a LOONGGG time member and something about my car that I never have been able to figure out was the antenna wire.
I have a 93 Lexus GS300 and I'm listening to CD's 99% of the time, but sometimes I just like listening to the radio.
For the last 7 years I have had my car, I never have figured out how to get the antenna up during FM radio. I have an Alpine 9835 deck.
Thanks.

I know for a fact it is disconnected a the headunit, I'm just unsure which wires to use to wire it up to the antenna wire out of the headunit.
You shouldn't have asked your friend to disconnect the antenna wire if he know's which wires to use. The antenna should only extend when the radio is on.

Jmai -- To answer your question on which wire to hook up for your power antenna, here's what I found from the user guide for your Alpine unit:
http://www.fixya.com/support/p198797...l-2105/page-42
Both page 42 & 43 explains which wire to use for connection. If you installed the radio unit yourself, then I guess the instructions should be easy enough to figure it out. Otherwise, you may want to have a professional installer hook it up for you.
Good luck !!

Let me clarify a bit more.
I know which wire to use on the headunit, but I don't know which wire(s) to use on the stock wiring harness from the factory radio.
Thanks.
