Fellas,
Looking to replace the janky old HU in my 02 GS300. I'm thinking on getting this one. Pioneer AVH-P4100DVD. Now, my car does not have factory nav. In doing some research, I have a couple of questions.
Okay, I'm going to get an amp to power a new woofer. Please tell me if I have the installation correct.
1. Off the HU pigtail, the wires for the speakers can simply be tapped into the factorry harness that connects to the factory head unit. Therefore going thru the stock amp to the new HU.
2. The new woofer, would go thru the new amp, and the aftermarket amp would then be wired for power and ran directly to the new HU.
I'm trying to avoid having to rewire/buy all the speakers. Is that accurate?

u don't want to tap from the stock amp. u should bypass the stock amp and run it from ur aftermarket head unit so u can control ur gains and crossovers with it.
u can buy toyota wiring harness and run wires behind the glovebox (which where the stock amp will be) to the dash.
and with that u don't have to run new wires into the grommets and just use the stock wires.

yep, that's exactly how I did it. Thank you sir! Wasn't nearly as difficult as I thought it would be. Even without the toyo harness, still seems like it would be easy. I'm connecting the woofer/amp and bluetooth adapter this weekend.
