Default feedback needed on fg enclosure finish...

Bought a 2GS with an aftermarket box in the trunk. Did not fit the lexus to my liking. So I'm building my own. Only thing I'm not sure of is the end finish. Regular carpet to match the trunk...painted pearl white to match the car...or even black for a more subtle painted finish...or suede that is a tannish brown color that is already on my headliner.

Some opinions would be cool. Thanks.

not yet man, it's been collecting cobwebs at work, just too busy to bring it out and work on it lately...

one more layer of bondo then paint, I guess...

Ain't gonna hit anywhere as near as hard as yours does, but maybe it'll look ok at least

Cool

I would do a carpet match, and then a magnetic grill with grill cloth to make it totally stealth. If you're not going for stealth, I wouldn't do a color matched paint - too "typical" an option (but they do look good if done right). I would do a contrasting color, perhaps red. Are you going to mount any equipment on either side of the opening? Doesn't look like it, but if you were going to put a cap or something on each side, that might look cool if you went "industrial" with the mounting.

The work looks good. You definitely have some sanding to do. I wouldn't do another layer of filler, though. You're close enough to sand and then do a glaze. Then sand and paint.

Anybody have any leads on an automotive material retailer?...

You're welcome, mang. As for the materials, not sure where you are, but Tempe Sales has several offerings that are very close for trunk liner. Not horribly expensive, either. If you don't know where it is, it's on Broadway just west of Mill on the North side of the street.

Hey Mack just wanted to say thanks for the heads up on Tempe Sales! That's perfect.

I got some trunk liner...closest to what I'm envisioning...just not sure what it'll look like...I'm afraid if I wrap it and don't like it, then I'll be bummed I didn't paint it...oh well

Here are the last two sides I just finished the other day. It's ready to be wrapped.

You're welcome, mang. They've got a heck of a selection of odds and ends, don't they? The enclosure looks good, too. If you don't like the carpet, you can always strip it off, glaze the thing, and then shoot it whatever color you want.

Lookin good, mang! Tucks up in there, and the carpet matches very well. Now you better hope one L7 is enough for you!
