I have the same Pioneer unit ashtray is talking about. It is the amp wire and for whatever reason, there is no other wire for the antenna. My antenna stays up as long as the unit is on. I was going to make a switch to control it.

Yeah my Kenwood had a dedicated "antenna" wire.

Couldnt find the antenna wire. Now the antenna is just up all the time. Oh well.

edit: Followed everything step by step and worked out perfect. Now I just want to get the DVD working while driving and figure out the antenna wire.

If you search google images, there are some diagrams that show you how to wire up a relay to have it work while driving.

I will try that. But first...I have to get it working while the parking brake is on I tried The Godfather and I only got audio. Any ideas?

I'm guessing you're using a Pioneer head unit with navigation, right?

It is a Pioneer, but it does not have the navigation system. I figured I didnt need it as I have a Garmen. Just read online that I can ground the parking brake wire and get a toggle switch for "on" "off" grounding incase I get pulled over. Will this work with this unit...

Pioneer AVH-P3300BT???????

Pioneers are notorious for having the requirement of a double e-brake signal to allow the video to play. You can get a toggle switch but you'll have to flick it twice each time you want to watch video (lame) or they sell those magic boxes on Ebay that have a circuit that does the job for you seamlessly.

Don't use the switch. Use a relay and it will work whenever you want.

Had a friend try that relay - depending on the head unit it might or might not work. On my friends Pipneer it needs a double negative signal on startup. Some need jut a single negative (like all Kenwoods with it without nav).

Interesting. The 3300BT Pioneer unit is double negative (at least from what I've read) and this relay worked. Could be single.

It's a basic single pole double throw (SPDT) relay, you're gonna have to research and learn this stuff if you're going to do any electrical work.

Raine I got another sub bypass without using the stock sub amp, and use the aftermarket stereo.

From aftermarket sub output to the stereo harness is white=neg and black=pos
Clearly in on the first page.

From the subwoof it is white/black=neg and red/white =pos.

From the sub amp, cut white(G5), black(G1), black/white(G9), and red/white (G10).

Wire G5 with G9
G1 with G10

My question is, which output more power, the stock amp or aftermarket stereo (not amp).
