Just got the 98 gs400 nice car but the other day the navi and radio froze up. Any simple solution?

I have a similar problem. Some times When I start the car I am unable to access the "Climate" screen. I can turn off the fan with the "Off" button, and adjust desired temp with the "temp" switch.

It got worse within the past month. The screen will not change settings to the "Night Mode". It's always has the light tan scheme. Then I turn the car off and start it again. It works fine. The same "remedy" cures the climate problem too.

I have a similar intermittent problem with my 99 GS 400. In my case the audio display freezes, but It always goes away the next time I start the car.
