Running only one voice coil on a DVC Kicker...what will happen?
It sounds loud as hell right now, but let me explain why I ddid this.
My sub over a period of 2-3 months started cutting out here and there...more and more frequently for longer periods of time til it just didnt work.
Well, the speaker wires that go from the voice coil the the silver cyllindrical spring connectors (which you then hook up the the inside of the speaker box) broke on both red and black of one voice coil. I'm not sure how.
Well, one broke off clean near the voice coil and I cant get in there enough to solder or crimp an extension...so I just hooked up one voice coil from my 1000w class d amp and it thumps.
Buuut...what damage might/will be/is being done? I would like to get the thing to a pro to fix it, but am wondering whats going on as-is...
Its a kicker solo baric l7 15" and a prestige 1000w mono class d
Thanks!

Well, not exactly sure I just know that I've always heard not to do that as it will hurt the sub. Found this forum tho blabbing on and on about it.

and this one was more up the path as to what I was trying to say.
