I have a 95 sc400 with the normal (not NAK) sound system. I want to replace the free air sub in the back, but I am not sure whether or not it is an 8" or 10". Can someone please let me know what size it is and what you would recommend. I am only searching for a free air sub because I need to trunk space. I currently have an Alpine 5 channle amp powering everything.

I replaced my pioneer rear sub 8" with a Directed Audio "10 sub. Some of the early SC400s had an 8" vs. a 10" You might want to check it for yourself. The clearance to the fuel tank is minimal, otherwise, I would have installed a Kicker VR comp sub. Still sounds great through a Soundstream Class A 3.0 amp with the speaker set at 2 ohms. If you get a deck with time correction controls you can adjust the timing to get the sub sound up front a little sooner. I recently put in Boston Acoustic Pro Series 5.25 components in my doors and they kick some serious booty via a Soundstream 405.
