Default CD player/changer not working on a 1992 SC300

Hi guys,

I'll try my best to describe my dillema. When I press the cd button on the headunit nothing is going on. The cd won't activate or play. I don't see the cd display on the LCD screen of the headunit. But the cd changer in the back has the power on. The eject button is on. Not sure what's going on. All the lines are connected. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Can you eject the cartridge? The head unit's CD button won't activate or even light up if there is no disc in there. If there is a disc and that is still happening, the CD changer may be broken.

The CD changers die after a decade or two.

That stereo system is 20 years old. Tear it out, throw it in the garbage, and replace it with a modern unit for $100 that plays MP3s, has IPOD and USB input, and superior sound quality to that dinosaur. I did, and I never looked back.
