Default Troubleshooting "No Disc Detected" message

Following this thread: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-...etected-7.html
it seems that the laser sled motor is not my problem. When I connect power to the motor, the laser moves back and forth with no problem.
Can anyone suggest anything else I can try before I put this thing back together and just say WTF and buy an aftermarket nav unit??
