Default problem with 6.5 front speaker upgrade with ebay adapters

I purchased the 6.5 adapters off of ebay for my front door panels. The install went fine and I was able to reuse the factory enclosure. The problem I am running into is that the door panel wont go on now. It hits the speaker due to the bigger diameter. I searched on here and I didnt find anyone having the same problem. Am I missing something here?

Im pretty sure its an issue with others as ive heard. You might have to trip the door panels a bit to get it to close.

the ebay adapters can be unscrewed to two pieces, u use the flat piece and the other piece could be used to mount 6.5 in the rear

I dont follow. Do i unscrew the pieces and just bolt the front 6.5s flush to the adapter plate? The only way I think that would work would be to remove the factory enclosure that I modded to work with the adaptor. If I do that then I would lose the tight airspace and instead use the whole door as the airspace. Im not sure how this would sound so I would like to keep the box.. but if I have to ill do that...

if u look closely at the adapter u can dismantle the part where ur putting the actuall speakers on.. from the flat piece...theres not many screws on there.. and not many pieces u can take screws out of

I understand that but if I do that then illl have to remove the factory enclosure I have bolted to it. The speaker wont fit with the enclosure attached because it hits the cone. If I remove the enclosure, it will fit but I wont have closed box for my speaker. Instead, ill be using the whole door as airspace. Will this sound okay?

i ended up making a 3/4" mdf ring and mounted that to the front panels. It inset the speakers about 1/2", but still hitting the door. I guess I have to notch the door out some..

I havent realy figured out what to do with the rears yet. I have a few ideas but nothing that seems very easy. Id like to see some pics of what other's have done..

did you have to cut the insides of the factory mounts in the rear for that adapter and speaker to fit? how the heck did you mount those rings to the hard plastic?? I guess im going to take off the rear enclosure in the front... boo.
