Popping sound...
I have just replaced my front speakers (MB Quart - Component) and rear (MB Quart - Coaxial) and they sound great!
Then I went ahead and replaced the Sub (Pioneer - Free-ar) and Amp (RF). The system sounds awesome but there one problem....
There is a POPPING sound everytime I turn on the power. Does anyone know what is causing it?
Thank you in advance.

are you running a remote turn on wire. esp with a stock head unit. u need one. do u hear the turn on pop noise everytime u turn on the radio? i have a turn on wire with switch and ocassionaly i will hear the noise when i turn off the radio or on. even sometimes when i start the car. but it happens like once in a blue moon. i dont get it. it is definitly annoying though. esp when u have over 1000watts and three 12's making a loud *** poping noise. i praticaly jump and get scared lol.

thank you everyone for replying.
I hear the POP noise only at the turn on (not during or turn off). I am using the stock HU and am running the remote turn on with the HU. I have also moved my ground wire around to 3 different locations but still no luck (scrapping out the paints at the contact points, too). I made sure that there are no wires crossing.
If it is the stock HU that's causing it, then I'm out of luck and would need to bring it to a Pro to replace the head as well, since I'm a newbie to any audio systems. But that is the last thing I want to do becuz I prefer the stock looking console.
three 12s making that pop noise?!?!?! Ouch.. One already scared the ***** out of me; I can't image 3!
thanks, again.

I think you need to delay the turn on signal to the amp at bit, ie 1/2 sec probably do the trick
try this:
disconnect the amp turn on wire, turn on your head unit, then reconnect the turn on wire a few second later==> see if you get the noise or not? (repeat it several time to make sure)
if that fix your problem, you need to build or get a small delay circuit that would delay your turn on signal for 1/2 sec or so, i set mine at 1sec just to be sure

it's a simple RC circuit, I built mine for a few bux
but you can get a better ones here

make sure you test out based on my instruction from previous post, just to be sure that adding the delay will cure your problem.
