Default Is an EQ needed w/use of stock radio

Hey percy or mean gene or anyone who can give me input!!!

Is an equalizer really needed for use with the stock headunit???? I have changed my mind sooooo many times about what to do as in sound systems for my car that i don't know what to get....but this is what I might do...

Kenwood Excelon 5-channel Kac-X650D amp
one L5 solobaric 12" in a single ported box
diamond Audio mids/highs

I guess what i need is input on the entire set-up?! Any input would be greatly appreciated....OH and a local shop is going to do this so I definately will not be making this a weekend project for myself to do.

THanks,
danny

Danny,

You'll also need line level converters if you're going with the stock head unit. There are NO PRE OUTS with the stock unit. An eq would do wonders for the system, be sure to get AT LEAST a 30 band eq. Anything less would be a waste of money and would be too "coarse" for fine system adjustments.
