I did this a few years back....
I think the screws that you need to remove can be acessed by carefully pulling on the ashtray until it snaps out. You need to pull on the clock/air vents until they snap out as well. Afterwards, you should be able to remove the entilre unit after you unscrew all of the phillips screws. Make sure you put towels all around to avoid scratches. Hope that answers your question.
