So I've been out of the car audio scene for a while, so I'm just looking here for a little advice. I'm looking to make some speaker baffles for my 2GS and run 6 1/2" coaxes in the front and rear doors. As far as the "type" of sound I'm looking for, I like more vocals with a warm sound to it. Not looking for something to play super loud or have a harsh metallic/raspy sound. In the past, I've run A/D/S speakers (long time ago 320 is's were my favorite separates) and loved them for their smooth and never harsh high end. Granted, being that I don't want to spend more than like $150 for each set, I know I can't get the best sound quality. But, what brand and models can you suggest for me to look into, based off what I want to spend, and how I want to sound. BTW, I have an older Xtant 4 channel amp that I could run if need be, but would rather just use deck power for now. Please let me know some suggestions

I would say alpine cheap or JL audio a little better.

Do you have the ML system? Complicates things a bit since it uses components and not coaxials. I think you should go and listen to a few offerings at your local shop. What I like, you may hate, and vice versa.
