IMNSFHO - it looks sh1te, there is no blend from the SC styling to the new player (a bit like having a turd stuck to your forehead).
On its own or in a more modern dash layout the new unit could look good, sticking out of the clean retro looking SC dash it becomes a shock to the system.
How about something with more "sympathy", the gap underneath can be utilised for a pocket (in my case it also holds the carphone speaker which cant be seen unless you get your eyes level with the CD/Tuner).

My new head unit was purely based upon it's features. I don't really mind that there's a massive space left by the original head unit (which was a 2DIN unit anyway). I love gadgets (makes you wonder why I didn't buy the Soarer V8 doesn't it?!) and the Pioneer DEH-P9350 had everything I was looking for and more. Sure it looks a bit "out there" compared to the conservative styling of the interior, but it makes me happy knowing I've got some pretty technical features

My Becker head unit was sourced to meet the following criteria:
A, Looks, it needed to "blend" with the console.
B, Quality, as good as they get being the high end option for Porsche/Merecdes.
C, Function, Single CD/RDS Tuner, Traffic Announcement, 3 pre-outs with on-board sub amp controller, ten disc changer option (or Mini-disc changer), speed sensitive volume adjust, car-phone over-ride and loads of other techie stuff but no Dolphins or Space Invader games.

I had my stereo installation done by someone else. The unit installed was a high-end mp3-only solution (its a long story, but a sweet system). Anyway, I am now adding the radio module to it (it wasn't initially available) and I need to know what wire signals the power antenna to raise and lower. All the other connections are on a plug to the main unit. I just opened up the dash (thanks for the instructions on how to get that shifter off) and I see three plugs with several wires each that must have been originally connected to the factory unit (Nakamichi). Can someone with a wiring diagram look this up for me? In case it matters, I have a 1992 SC400. Thanks.

Hello everyone,
Please notify me if someone has Stock Nakamichi Speakers and amp sitting around after an upgrade or what ever. I recently bought a Lexus Nakamichi head unit and plug it in my SC300 with no problems. The harnesses adapted perfectly. Speakers don't seem to be able to handle the power so I prefer the factory Nakamichi speakers. I need the Nakamichi factory amp also. Does anyone know by any chance the factory Nakamichi factory amp would adapt perfectly with the SC300 harness? Once again, I need, Nakamichi factory amp for SC400 only, 2 rear NAK speakers, 2 front NAK speakers, and 2 front NAK tweets. Please give me a reasonable price on it otherwise, I might as well go for aftermarket ones. And please, don't sell me any blown speakers. Let me know. I live in San Francisco, California and zip code 94116.

Just visited your site. Great since of aesthetics; beautiful auto, very nice site, and much help from the diagrams. I couldn't find a coordinated head unit ( at the time) so went for a top line Pioneer for MP3 and XM radio features..just looks plebian. But, I'm on the road much and just couldn't stand the "sh1te" factory setup.
Just a note of thanks..
