Just posted a YouTube video that shows the interference I'm experiencing. It appears to be random flickering of horizontal rows. Unfortunately, much of the video quality was lost while uploading (even in HD), but you can still see it.

I have to say mine still doesn't appear as bad with the Apple component cable (as opposed to the RocketFish cable), but perhaps that's coincidental. I admit I'm grasping at straws to get this completely resolved, and I'm concerned there may be multiple factors at play causing the issue.

I'm sorry you are having this issues with our interface. Can you please try to adjust the brightness in ML Plus settings to -3, -4, -5 and then to -6. And if you could share with us if you still get the noise or not. Please be aware there is a possibility of a noise with brightness level -1, -2, -3 and -4. But you should have a clear display with -5 or -6 level.
I would also like you to try a different iPod or iPhone, to see if there is any difference in using a different Apple device. Also if you could tell us what iPod/iPhone are you using right now?
As for the back button on steering wheel controls, it indeed was a bug, but we fixed and new firmware version will be available very soon on our ftp site.

I'm procrastinating that call (and hoping brociouz calls before me...lol). I sent back my 2ic unit, and it took 3 calls to get the difference in cash refunded to my account, and when it finally happened they shorted me $10 vs what I was told on the phone 3 times. /sigh.
On an unrelated positive note: I got on Escort chat last week because the suction cup windshield mount I purchased for my 9500ix broke (and I was wondering if I should purchase a new one or if they had a better solution). They said they would ship me the new style for free and got the shipment confirmation this week. :-) (Yes, I know this is completely unrelated, but I love good customer service stories, and I was feeling like "debbie downer" in this thread. lol.)

I still need to call them (difficult for me to do while at work). I'll try during my lunch break today.
My unit is not currently grounded, so that will be the next thing I try. After that I'll try the official Apple cable to see if it makes any difference.
Me neither...
Kudos to you for getting a pretty good recording of the interference; I tried last night, and I just couldn't capture it. This is definitely what I'm experiencing, but it's completely unnoticeable if you adjust the Lexus display values so it's black instead of gray. However, to reiterate your comments we shouldn't have to do that. I'm curious where people are grounding this unit because the grounding cable that comes with the harness is fairly short or perhaps they are just grounding the outside of the case?

I'll try a different Apple device tonight. I was using a brand new Ipod Touch 32gb , 4th generation. The IOS version is 4.2.1
Thanks for the feedback on the back button on the steering button. I look forward to the new firmware version (and instructions on how to update it)!

I get a "clear" display (or the interference is hidden) if I change the brightness/contrast so the iPodOut screen looks black instead of grey. Should I have to do this though? Is there a way to reduce the noise?

Also guys make sure your component cable isn't coiled up, it may cause interference as well.

Good to hear a fix for the back button is on the way - any other confirmed bugs that are being worked on?

To keep this on track...it's good to hear that Vaistech is experiencing the noise issue in their lab, and that the back button is a confirmed bug. I feel slightly better now...guess I'll spend the weekend trying to help troubleshoot the issue.

Sound quality is such a hard thing to be certain about. I have a non-Mark Levinson stereo system in my Lexus EiS350, and my desktop computer speakers (to test the sound quality via iTunes), are pretty cheapo. Although I couldn't be certain whether my sound quality of my regular was degraded (after increasing it to 150% of normal), I definitely DID notice a distortion in the sound of my iPod music videos (which I had likewise raised to 150% of normal).*Someone with a Mark Levinson stereo *ststem (or finely-tuned ears) might be a better person to perform a distortion test on the regular iPod music. *I ultimately reset all regular music and music videos back to the default "normal" setting in iTunes.*

I believe I just found another very *small* bug. I was able to verify it on my system 3 times, but would like if someone else can verify the same issue.
"Rating system unavailable on first song when connecting iPod Touch."
For example, you are listening to your device with headphones (or unplugged it from your car) when you plug it into your carethe artist, song, and album art of that particular song populates, but the rating will always show 0.
Can anyone confirm/deny this issue?

I guess there's only an included ground for the AV2 & 3 harnesses in relation to the camera. http://www.vaistech.com/manuals/Manual%20ML%20Plus.pdf
