Does anyone know if I get the GEX-7000TV and Vlad's ecu, if I can run a Pioneer DVD changer in the trunk off the sensor that will be provided with the ecu? Or will I need to run two sensors to the front for the remote control for each(the tuner and changer)? I think the GEX TV tuner has the DVD changer controls. Let me know. Thanks.

You will probably have to use two sensors and two remote controls, because the only control connection between the GEX and XDV DVD changer is Pioneer's IP bus. If you need the FM modulator function for sound on the GEX, then you probably won't even use the IP bus when the GEX is in stand alone mode. You see the GEX has a switch on the bottom to change between stand alone and IP-bus modes. Also the remote for the GEX has no DVD changer functions and the remote for the XDV has no GEX functions.

Thanks man, I thought the GEX had changer controls, but I guess not. Would you recommend buying a lower priced DVD changer? I think Fry's has a 12 disk for around 300 dollars, the Pioneer is around 640, best price I found, and it is a six disk. I know you get what you pay for, but I was thinking about getting the one from Fry's with a warranty. What things do I need to look out for? Are the DVD changers susceptible to skipping easily? Thanks.

The Pioneer XDV-P9 or newer model P90 is a quality DVD changer. The face of the unit looks great with blue running light and true brushed metal finish. Considering you will have a Pioneer GEX with IP-bus I'd just go for the Pioneer. Alpine's DVD changer looks nice, but I haven't used it. Clarion also has a DVD changer too. The Pioneer XDV-P9 can be had on Ebay for $350 - $450, while the newer model runs higher. For DVD's you won't noitce the difference between the old and new model.

I'm working on putting a XDV-P9 into my upper glove box now.

Default Pioneer XDV-P9

Can the GEX control the XDV-P9 from the its remote? That would be worth the extra cost!

(I don't want my car to look like my family room coffee table w/ 4 remotes!)

The web site is up " www.video-nav.com". I hope this help and you can order directly from Vlad. I think the price is around $360.00. with cable(original Pioneer GEX cable) you will need 2 of them. One will come with the GEX and another one you will have to order it from Pioneer, but you can order another cable from this site.
