VVT-i,
What is the third wire for? I thought the remote eye controll the Pioneer GEX. In addition, where is the antenna swticher for the RF Module located?
Thanks!
The trunk covers have to come out just to run 3 wires. One is for the remote eye for the Video-Nav I, one for the DVD and the last for the Pioneer GEX so you can swicth the output from DVD, TV tuner, rear camera monitor and Lexus Nav. system.

The third wire is for the FM modulator . I set it at 88.3 on FM2 and the GEX remote will have the Audio Select function, so you can select between TV, VRT1(DVD player) and VRT2(PS2 or something else), those are your inputs.
O.K, one for the remote eye for the PBN1 or Video-Nav 1(control the Pioneer GEX) and one for the DVD and another one for the FM Modulator.
Note: They change the name from video- nav 1 to PBN1.

Thank VVT-i. I guess the FM Modulator will be stationed near the Deck? Did the antenna connection fit okay? I'm going to try to install the PNB1 this weekend. I'll let everyone know how it turns out.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Here's a thought.... use a PS2 for your DVD player and get the Logitech wireless remote game pad. This way you can play games as well.
It's a 2.4GHz, like a cordless phone.

Video (like DVD) can be placed on navigation screen using only a few electronic parts and a Pioneer AVC-RGB1, but the Pioneer part has be discontinued and very hard (if not impos.) to find. The other parts needed for this modification would be a 4PDT relay and a switch.

Nuum or anyone,
I need your help bro. How can I get to the car antenna plug? Do I have to remove my entire radio receiver in the front , if so, how do I go about doing so? This is my last connection to complete my Vlad's Video Nav Kit.
Thanks

looking good! some questions:
1) how's the sound quality through the FM modulator?
2) is an external antenna needed for the TV tuner?
3) any difference between installing this in a 98~00 GS+NAV and a 01+ GS+NAV? since the screens are different sizes, any adjustments needed?
4) are the IR-eye receiever and the remote included?
5) what is the additional RGB cable for? is that required?
thanks and sorry for the stupid questions!

I'll take a stab at a few of these questions:
1. The FM modulator sound is equivalent FM stereo. A few users have stated the ampltitude a little on the weak side. With a FM modulator you will never get CD or Dolby Digital quality.
2. Yes, a 4 jack diversity mobile TV antenna is recommended for use with the GEX. Pioneer's antenna part # is AN-G3 and could be mounted in the corners or your rear window.
3. The GEX has no screen adjustments for horizontal or vertical size, only brightness, color and hue. The image will be stretched to fit each screen. There is probably no difference other than wire connections to the navigation ECU. This should be documented in the kit.
4. The GEX-P7000TV comes with a small (credit card sized) remote control. In addition other multimedia products from Pioneer, like DVD players can also control functions of the GEX. From the pictures and description of the kit it comes with a IR eye.
5. The GEX-P7000TV comes with one (1) RGB cable that goes between the GEX front screen output and the kit. The additional RGB cable is for the navigation input plug on the GEX and the kit. It would be required for the navigation signal to passed thru the kit.
Wow, I answer these questions like I invented the kit! Truth be told I was working on the last problem while VLad solved it with a small circuit and producded a kit... so who knows who was 1st. My kit will be available soon and will have a XM radio option too.

thanks VideoNavi!
so other than the GEX, and the PB, I also need the extra RGB cable and the TV antenna to at least get TV on the NAV screen.
Costly but seems like a great investment.
In the future when I want to add more things like PS2 or VCR, they will all just plug into the GEX and start working right?
