Default Stock Radio has power but no sound

I recently changed the head unit and speakers in my '90 LS 400. I got frustrated trying to get the proper wiring diagram for the stock harness so I removed all aftermarket wiring and equipment, re-connected the aftermarket speakers to the stock wiring and plugged in my stock head unit. Now the head unit has power but does not produce any sound and the power antena will not go up. Everything is plugged in where it should be and I can't figure it out. Does anybody have any idea why the system will not produce any sound?

Here are my guesses... but that is all anyone can do here without you describing what you modified or seeing it in person.

1) You installed an amplifier and cut the speaker wires for outputs from the amp and then cut the antenna lead for the amp turn-on lead.

2) You unplugged/fried the factory amplifier.

3) You blew the fuse on the factory amp.

4) You tied shorted out two speaker wires somewhere while installing your new speakers causing the amp to clip.

5) You didn't fully connect the factory harness.

I suggest going back and double checking the whole thing. Most times it is something missed and nothing major. If you still have a problem...find a local shop to help you out.

BTW. Your factory wire harness specs are easy to find. Go to a stereo shop and ask...they will look on the wire harness bag and write them down for you.

Thanks for the input. It was the fuse. The hot lead from the power antena probably shorted out and blew the fuse.
