Hello all,
I recently bought a 95 ES300 and absolutely love the car. The only thing I might be able to buy a lexus Cd-changer for the car and need help in trying to figure out
a. is it already pre-wired for the changer?
b. How do i install the changer?
c. any other parts i need other than mounting brackets?
Thanks you all for the help and since I just found this forum, just want to say I love it!
Thanks,
Sidd

If you do not see the CD button on your radio you cannot add CD because there's no input. I have researched this, but have not confirmed it myself. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
If you do have the CD button, there is not a 100% chance a used Lexus cd changer will work because Lexus switched manufacturers at some point. Some people on this board have made their own cables to fix this incompatibility and I assume this technique might work with an aftermarket changer, but you would really have to know what you were doing.
Enjoy your new Lexus and enjoy those tapes as well (I do, I'm in the same boat as you).

hey!
actually there is a CD button, only thing is i don't see any interface in the trunk to hook it up to a changer, and since this purchase won't be refundable, i'm not sure what to do since the changer is from a 93 es-300 and mine is a 95 es-300. too bad i don't have a single tape!

At least you have the CD button. Sounds like you are missing the interface cable (not prewired). I know it will work if you make the cable yourself, that has been done. Just a matter of knowing which pin does which command. Run a search on this board.
If you buy a "Lexus" cable, it might not work since Lexus switched manufacturers like I mentioned before (that's why no one sells aftermarket adaptors for us, too risky).
Good luck!
