SC 400 antenna
Hi, guys:
I'm electronically and mechanically challenged and I need some help.
Have removed power antenna from my '97 SC400, disassembled it to remove the broken plastic portion of the mast. Reassembled w/o the mast thinking I could let the antenna mechanism draw the mast in as set forth in the postings about such things. May have reassembled incorrectly. Not getting any action at all when I try to install the new mast by inserting the tail piece of the new mast about 16 to 18 inches into the remounted unit.
I'm not even sure that power is getting to the unit. Intuitively I would expect to hear some kind of noise from the antenna motor when I turn the car on. How can I check to make sure power is getting to the unit?
I don't want to purchase a new antenna and subsequently discover that the only problem was no power to the old unit. Fuse #11 is not blown.
