X-Horse Mini-VCI & Windows 7
I bought the TIS Cable by X-Horse Electronics off of Ebay after other guys in the 2GS forum had good results. Well here I am and I can't get the MVCI Drivers installed, every time I try it ends the installation prematurely because it ran in to an error but it doesnt give an option to see what the error was. I tried to use Windows compatibility check but that didn't help either, I also tried installing other J2534 drivers with no luck. Figured I'd see if anyone has had success using this on Win7 64bit and how they did it. Thanks!

Bumping this back up, noone with any experience? Any tech guys have any ideas? I can't go the virtual pc route and don't really want to downgrade to XP or Vista so any help is appreciated. Hope I don't have to go buy a cheap old laptop just to run my techstream but if thats what I have to do I suppose..

Hi drgonzo370.
I've got the same interface as you have and also a windows 7 setup and so far my stuff works fine but there is a catch tough. I'm not running the driver nor the program through windows 7. on my windows 7 I've got a Windows XP 32bit Virtual machine. Once you have opened the virtual machine and you've installed the program and the J2534 interface driver then you'll be up and running. The driver does install on the virtual machine perfectly couse it is a 32bit system. when you connect your interface toyour PC's USB port, just remember to attach it first. How? - easy, at the top Left or centre of the virtual machine home page the will be a bar called "USB" click it. there will be displayed VCI attach, click it. then you will hear it connects to windows XP. then also when you click the USB bar again the VCI will display release. only click that if you want to remove your interface.
Good luck!

XHorse is in fact only one choice in a huge variety of Chinese clones. A number of drivers exist, each one being far from perfect, and even worse, some are regarded as dangerous by anti-virus software.
Even that said, I've been successfully running one of these adapters on at least 3 Win7 systems and one WinXp system.
Have you tried installing the drivers from administrator account? Could you post some screenshots of your troubles?

I haven't connected up to the car yet, but else it has installed and Windows can see it properly.
