So I picked up an asus transformer tablet with the intent to use it as my new media hub. Right now I have a kenwood dnx-8120 dd nav unit. It's a good unit but USB support is poor. It chokes with large mp3 collections and will not play any video off USB. PITA to have to burn any videos to disc.
I have the mounting kit on order and should be here tomorrow. My plan is to remove the kenwood and mount the tablet over the DD opening. The docking station with a 3.5mm speaker output isn't available yet so I'll have to use the headphone output to my amp for the time being. I'll have to find something to split the stereo input and up the voltage to 6 channels as well.
Another small issue at the moment is the lack of a good front end for the android OS but I don't think it will be long before someone creates a nice one like the ones for windows.
