Starting my 4th build! Starting with Morell Virtus 602s for the front speakers. These are rated at 140 Watts per pair so I have upgraded the wiring to 12 gauge to the doors:


I also did some sound deadening in the doors as well as on the back of the door panel.

For the speaker adapters they come with a plastic spacer for the top bolt - You will need a longer screw to secure the top:

I used double sided tape to hold the passive crossover in place.

Question on the wiring harness. This plugs into the harness behind the glove box and the wires lead to the factory amp in the trunk (for the ML system), correct? So I could use those as high level inputs for an aftermarket amp? And what harness do I need to use the factory signal wires to the speakers?

The build you are referencing was not a ML system but rather a Pioneer I believe. I'm a bit fuzzy if the ML is behind the dash as well or not. If not it may be in the trunk.

that whole batch of wires isn’t there in the ML system. It’s all in the trunk.
