Default Safe to run a battery without tray?

I just got a Kinetik 1800 for under the hood. With the combination of the higher posts and stinger digital terminals, the hood now doesn't close without force. For clearance issues is it safe to take the tray out and just have it sit on the bare metal? I thought I remember hearing that it's not good for a battery to sit on concrete so I doubt the metal is ok. Thanks.

this can be locked. the battery is smaller than stock. moved it to a different spot on the tray and it closes ok now.

To clarify for anyone else, I would definitely NOT recommend not using a battery tray..Last year, my battery tray broke and my battery slid and made contact with my power steering reservoir and arced across and caught my hood insulation on fire and melted my power steering reservoir.

also, your battery is tied down for a reason. if the battery gets tossed around a lot it will kill the cells inside of the battery, which will kill your wallet.
