What about just adding a 2 farad capacitor??? I saw major improvements in my ES300 and in my GS400 when I added the capacitor. No more light dim, plus they are (relatively as opposed to changing battery and alternator) cheap and easy to install. Check this one out, I don't know how good the brand is but I had this brand and never had issues with it. http://www.amazon.com/Tsunami-2-Fara.../dp/B0006Z9K5A

I agree with the above - except for adding an additional battery in the trunk to an existing problematic system. This is simply asking for trouble since the alternator is already not keeping up with the current demand. Extra batteries do absolutely nothing to stop this problem if they cannot get supply. The big 3 upgrade will ensure that the vehicle charging system is at optimum operating capacity. If you still have dimming, an additional battery simply becomes another load on the alternator since it will demand current as the amp depletes it. If the alternator cannot support the car and one battery, it certainly cannot support two. The only solution for this problem if it persists beyond the big 3 upgrade is a higher output alternator. Additional storage capacity only comes into play for engine off operation, which is when adding batteries is beneficial.

i didnt need to the way mine was set up...(there are 2 lateral braces at front an rear of deck lid.. ) i only cut out 36" x 12" in between the seat an window that held the oem sub and center seat belt mount.. the sub encl bolted to the floor, seat back (upper and lower) it was also fiberglassed inside and out for rigidity. and the entire trunk, trunk lid seat back, c pillars, doors, roof etc were covered in dynamat extreme to reduce rattles...
its funny the guy who bought my car managed to blow every mid & tweet in the car but the trunk an subs all look an work perfectly....
