Experience with removable faces on double din?
I am looking at replacing my factory stereo in the 2nd Gen GS300 with a double din unit. I have been eyeballing the Pioneer AVH-P4300, but the JVC 7" double din units caught my attention since they have removable faces.
Does anyone have experience with these JVC units? I know some of the old single din removable faces wore down the "teeth" over time if you removed them a lot and they would not always make a solid connection.
I'm not a big stickler for security, but I always like to consider that option when buying.

I ran one of the JVC double-dins with the detachable face for about a year. One of the main reasons I bought it was because of the detachable face and I never had a problem whatsoever with it. The Pioneer units in general seem to have a slightly better feature set and GUI over the JVC units, but no complaints at all about my JVC. I think I had the AVX810, back about 2-3 years ago.

Should not be an issue , but ALL removable faceplates as well as the old "benzi-box" style removable headunits all are susceptible to deterioration of the connectors. Continued and repeated removal and reattaching can reduce the life of those connectors.
