A different Tv-Nav
I was bored so I just typed in Tv-Nav.com on my browser. It took me to http://www.data-bus-engineering.com. The site is incomplete and seems to be in development. But I sent an e-mail to the contact on the site. I received a reply.

We are currently
working on a unit for the Lexus LS 430, IS 300, SC430, and LX 470. We
are projecting the kits to be around $499-599 retail they will includes
a plug and play wiring harness for each vehicle(no cutting wires!). I am
not one to slam anyone else's product; however I am here to educate you
on what kind of background is required to make a correct interface for
this application. I can tell you anyone that makes an interface for your
car that is made out of Radio Shack project box, especially a plastic
one has never been in the field of Engineering. Take a look at any
electronic computer inside your car and see if it is located in a
plastic housing....everything needs shielding to keep noise out. The
whole point of the this interface is so to can watch a movie right? Not a
movie with lines on the screen when you turn your lights on, or around
2,500 RPM's. We at Data-Bus only do consulting work for OBDII, J1850,
Can-Bus etc. This is something we are doing for fun because it's cool
and we have done it to many cars in the past. We have over 22years of
combined Engineering background in the automotive area. We build stuff
right the first time around. Some of those guy's are using a unit out of
a TV (Old one) to make this work, as you know home stuff is a totally
different world. A little info about the nav screen in your car, it
needs an analog signal for the picture input that is why they have to
use a part from an old TV because the new TV's use digital parts to
achieve the same thing. We use a digital set up and covert it to the
exact requirements that the navigation screen needs. I think it's great
that people like them enjoy electronics and make them do a bit more then
they were made for, I just think it is only fair for customers to get
the best quality product they can. We are still working out the plugs
and mounting brackets.
[end]
I'm just posting this cause I agree with this guy, I only want the best for my car. Apparently the products are still in development, but a plug-and-play product sounds awesome. And the price isn't as high as nav-tv.com. Just another option.
