Your def gonna need a capacitor to run with the amp, the sub can fit depending of the size of your enclosure

That amp is too big for that sub, you really will only need the TD1001BD if your only pushing that one 15". The physical size of that TD2000BD also is also going to be a major problem, whereas the td1001bd is more accomodating.

How can you say that without knowing anything about his electrical system? Why not recommend the big-3 upgrade since a cap is really just a band-aid on a larger problem?

$500 MSRP for a sub with 14mm of xmax!!!! For that price, I'd go with something from TC Sounds - http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=293-662

Good call on the first part, but even a big 3 upgrade isn't going to cut it with that amp if he's running stock electrical. That amp draws 78 amps @ 4 ohms. Drop it down to 1 with a DVC like that, and you're pushing 200-220 amps @ 1 ohm. Not happening. Even assuming he's running it at half power, that's 100 amps right there, which is more than the alternator has to spare.

If you're going to do that amp, or even the smaller BD as recommended, you need to upgrade the electrical system. These cars are finicky enough about voltage, do it right the first time and save yourself the hassle of a dead car. If you can't do it, get with someone who can, but I wouldn't be doing anything like this without a serious upgrade.

AGREED!!!

i only sold that amp with an optima under the hood, & 2 extra batts in back (all red), 1/0 awg wire & at least a 150 amp alternator upgrade.. otherwise no warranty!!! No exceptions!

With great power.. comes great responsibility!

Thumbs up

thank you all for the help. it seems like the setup is just too big, or too much power where im going to need a lot of work. Im just going to wait and probably find a smaller setup.
