Those of you with Yellow top batteries

Hey John...
They're right, go to a stereo shop. I upgraded mine myself with some over-the-shoulder supervision of the guys at my stereo shop. I replaced all of the factory wiring in about 2 hours. The alternator lead was the most difficult due to it being under the car.
I also used 1/0 ga attached to the front (side-mount) terminals for the system power and for a further ground (I went to the block with the 1/0 and to the chassis with 4 ga.)
Good luck.
Todd

Hey Todd. it sound like a simple job. i think i can do this myself also. What kind of wire did you use?? was it ordinary power cable that you use from your sound system with heat protection around it???

the sc400 needs the reverse-terminal model, with orange top. Really strong battery, but quite a bit smaller than the original and the terminals are a little farther from the edges of the battery, which makes getting the right-angle terminals on the posts tough - I had to straighten and then rebend the terminals to make 'em fit, and used a cedar plank 1-1/2" thick under the battery to enable the original tiedown to secure it. I re-used the battery cover and cut a black abs sheet to cover the battery, it looks stock, no splash of orange in that nice black engine bay - even though it's smaller, it has more cca's and reserve capacity than the stock battery - about $150

yeah i found my battery to be alot smaller than stock. all i did was bend the bar a little and now its a snug tight fit with no movement at all. as for the post on the opposite end of the battery i still have the problem of it barely reaching so i'm going to have to do what Todd (rico revenge) suggested and rerun my cables.
