Thoughts on Rainbow?
I know that there has been some discussion about Rainbow Pro line. Did a quick search on forum.
I need to know if someone has experience with the Contour Line or Sound Line?
http://www.rainbow-car-audio.com/spe....php?AN=231401
Hear anything Good or Bad about them?
I’m thinking about using these for the back doors in my GS.
The reason for these is no need to cut holes. Coaxial.
My other choices are: In 6.5” or 5.25”
Rainbow Sound Line SL130.02-5.25 5.25" $190.00 60hz-20khz
Boston FX5 5-1/4" $99.95 60-20,000Hz
Boston RX57 5-1/4" $139.96 58-20,000Hz
MB Quart REFERENCE RKC113 5.25 $189.95 50-32,000 Hz
JLAudio XR525-CX : 5-1/4" $188.00 53- 25 KHz
Component Focal Polyglass 130 V 5-1/4 $229.95 60-20,000 Hz

Best bet is to listen before you buy, if that's possible from your dealer. Be careful of the specs they advertise as that's usually rated at +/- 10db. (20 db swing) Home speakers and reputable automotive speakers are usually rated for +/- 3db (6db swing...tighter tolerance)
I've heard good things about Rainbow Pro from others on the forum. The only speaker that I won't buy (due to lack of info and $$$$.$$ bucks asked) would be the Rainbow Reference component set. They're priced at 8 grand with NO REAL INFORMATION or "hard" specs.

I don't think it is goint to be possible because they only have the component ones in stock. Those sound great. But not a good test since they were in a sound room and not a car. So i will have to buy blind , which is OK I guess. What would be your second choice out of my list if I decide not to order blind?
Thanks
Percy.
Thanks
Percy.

Dyns... oops...they're not on the list!
Seriously though, I'd probably stick with the Rainbow stuff. The Focals are nice, but the polykevlar tweeter, imo, leaves a bit to be desired. MBQ is a bit bright for me but Todd seems to have good luck with them.
What's your source material? (laymans terms...what do you listen to?)

The Pro line has very smooth laid-back tweets, detailed midrange and midbass that hits extrimely low. I used to run the full 3-way set but I had to step up in midbass department. While Pro midbass has a lot of authority and kick, they could not catch up with my 2 12's (only 8's can) in terms of output. The set is in no way bright nor it is laid back. Sound coloration is minimal. Midrange aims very well and in Lexus interiors you can get real high soundstage with these speakers. Overall I love them. I have had them for over a year and I would not swap them out till the platinum line comes out. With all the speakers I tried, I stayed with Pro midrange and tweet. They are much better them Focals IMO.

guys thanks for the input.
Dance is mostly what i listen to. House and Trance.
The bostons I have in front deffinetly are not satisfying my Bass quota.
It good to hear that the pro line plays low at good quality.
I guess I might be the first to review the Rainbow Contour Line or Sound Line.
I refuse to make extra holes in my doors. Components just not on my list.
