Any Suggestions - Power is dropping?
My system
punch 800.4 wired for 100 watts each of the 4 channels
5 1/4 MbQ seprates w/tweeter and 6 1/2 coax mb Quarts
power bd1000a1 wired for 2 ohm load 1K watts to 1 channel
2 15" Eclipse Alum Sub
1Frad Cap
Wiring etc.
I have recently noticed that while crusing and the suddenly I lose 25% of my sound. Sometimes however when I stop at the light it also happens, but then regains it's normal sound after I get rolling. But when I have my car just parked with the engine off this sound loss does not happen. Funny thing is that car starts good even after playing radio for 10 min fairly loud. Now is that just a clear sign of a new battery needed? If so how much better are Optima yellow top vs Sears Premium type? Now is the alternator for a sc400 strong enough to recharge the battery to handle this load? Cuz I just changed my battery 7-8 months ago. Or maybe run a second battery. Any suggestions Will be appreciated..

Hard to tell what your exact problem is.
Batteries: Best Sears battery is a DieHard Gold. This is a "starting" battery, not meant to be deep-cycled, it will cease to recharge if drained too much too often. Optima Yellow Top is a deep-cycle battery, it does not quite have the CCA capacity of the DieHard, but you can deep-cycle it hundreds of times - it will recharge fully from a completely drained state. The Yellow Top has a gel electrolyte inside instead of liquid, and has a better case, so will not leak. A Yellow Top will recharge more efficiently after being drained by your audio system. Optima also makes a Red Top, which is a starting battery more like the DieHard, but given the choice between the two, I'd still choose the Optima.
You might want to have a battery place (Sears, NTB, etc.) do a load test on your battery just to make sure you haven't already toasted it.
