I have had remote start put on my car by a shop a few months ago, but it wouldnt work because i needed a key with a chip to hide so it will start. Without the key it would just crank. The shop where i had it installed is now closed down. Now that i finally had the time to get one made what do i do to get it started?

What car and year is it?
That is not right, The install should have had a bypass module installed which works around and with the alarm, imobilizer and locks in the car. It cranks over but doesnt start because the imobilizer has shut off the fuel supply and probably the spark as well.
As the dealer that did the install is not around, I think you need to go to a shop and have it installed properly. You should be able to start lock/ unlock the car without having a key anywhere around the car.

Directed 555XW, there is no need to have a key inside the car.

The Idatalink is very popular and easy to use. To the OP, you will probably get more information on using the Idatalink over the 555XW as it seems to be used a lot with installs now.

Are referring to the 555XW? Yes it is an older piece and it does NOT need two keys to program. I only have a valet key and it worked just fine.

I actually found the 555x model in my car. I guess the last installer left in there. I have no clue why he didnt install it. Its still nib. For some reason he said i still need a key, but this immobilizer says it doesnt need a key. I also have the 555xw on the way, but i think theyre the same. Lmk which i should install.
