Default Replacing OEM Navigation?

So I'm trying to change my head unit on my 2nd Gen GS which has the climate control built in the touch screen. I been wondering if I buy a climate control from another GS that came with the non touch screen, will it work??? I called this guy that was selling one on ebay and he had mentioned it will work? I assumed he said that just so he can sell me the product and not care. I have called the local dealer, they said negative. So I want to know if anyone has actually tried this or actually seen this done before I blow $150 just for trial and error.

Search around, there are a lot of guys that have done this without problems.

I tried looking around and never found a solid answer. Do you know if it was as easy as just plug and play with the wire harness?

He's already answered this, and you clearly did not search for this on our forum. You are a registered member here. The research has been done, and you have access to it for free because of that.

I know it can be fun searching if you don't type the wording properly. From what I recall, with the 2nd gen there isn't any issues going from Nav to non-Nav climate control. If you can, or know someone near you, try and swap a non-Nav climate control and check it out.
