Default Should I buy an FM transmitter for iPhone -> IS250?

I used Aux but maxing my volume to hear my music gets old fast and even then I could not change the songs via steering wheel. I was wondering if FM transmitters would be good for quality as there is nothing I can do to integrate the iPhone into the car's audio otherwise.

If anyone uses any FM transmitters, any recommendation?

I'd very much discourage this. I've tried so many different ones and none of them have been worth the annoyance of them.

If you are looking to get your phone to play, then it'd be fine. If you're looking for quality then it would definitely not be the answer.

2nd.. fm mod wont cure the problem.. and will probably cause a few more issues (like static or noise) look into vaistech..they should have an ipod interface for the car

Unfortunately Vaistech is out of my budget and even if it were not, it only leverage the CD player UI which looks tacky to me...

But thank you for the opinions, much appreciated. Guess I will be suffering with AUX. :'(

You're maxing out the volume???

I would say NO to FM transmitter. Use a bluetooth adapter (i assume you have a 06-09 IS) like the blackberry music gateway or something similar. It lets you play your music wirelessly through bluetooth (A2DP bluetooth, A2DP is standard on 2010-current IS's, so if you have a newer model, you already have this feature).

Search the 2IS section, theres a massive thread on this!

My volume is at 20-30 to get decent sound in the vehicle (compared to 10-12 for the radio).

I will check out the BlackBerry Music Gateway, I assume this will allow me to make use of the steering wheel mounted controls?

FM Transmitters are trash. That is all you need to know. I tried using one, but it will often have static and noise that is just unbearable. So your little AUX problem? That is nothing compared to the type of issues you will get from FM transmitters. And you have to max your volume to hear anything... you got some other issues lol.

No, steering wheel controls, aside from volume, will still not work with this. It's essentially an upgraded technology of an FM transmitter to play through Bluetooth. No static, no loss of quality, still have to use your phone to control your music, but it is very nice to not have to plug in to play music!

2 times I blasted my ears using my iPhone to listen to music after connecting it to the car. That definitely is a problem!

Yeah, but right now I use a hybrid USB -> Aux/USB cable to charge and listen to music. Nice to be able to charge the phone and if there's no steering mounted control -- then my cable suffices for now as it intermittently fixed the music destroy my ears when I forget to reset the volume on my iPhone when using it.

Thanks for the suggestion though.
