Default Adding NAV where there wasn't a NAV??

What is involved in adding the NAV to a non-NAV'd '98 LS400? I can't seem to find a definitive answer by searching. The reason I ask is that every now and then, I'll see a used one for sale on e-bay.

the answer is: It probably CAN be done.
the question is how much are you willing to spend for it?

if you can get the oem nav for $200-300 bux, then you may consider retrofit it, you get the the oem nav for more than that, then might as well get the aftermarket nav, you know it works for sure.

you are looking at building connectors and rewire a "bunch" of wires, assuming you have a schematic for them. else, there is NO hope.

Oh, well, so much for that. I was hoping that all Lexi came with the wiring harnesses and everything like was in a NAV car. But from what you are saying, it ain't no "plug and play."

this is what I was told from the dealership about adding a stock nav to my GS400, " its cheaper for you to trade it in for a car with nav, than to try and have it installed in yours "
