i switched out my head unit (Alpine 7977), and now it just doesnt seem to match with the rest of the car, and everything seems too plain..i need more. i dont want to mess with the din under it for reasons (ill just put a nice silver polished lexus emblem there so its not as empty)...and i definately want to keep my head unit...i love it...so i was thinking of a small fold out screen in the ash tray? is there anything small enough that exists? or anyone have any other ideas?

use a raw screen and install it in your ash try like a 2.5 inch

 

who makes a 2.5" screen, any links.

 

that 2.5'' raw screen idea aint all that bad, but it would be way better if i found a fold out type screen so it could get a little bigger and so it covers the space under my single din head unit when its out. (and less strain on my neck to view the screen!) =)

but i dont mind checking out some links of the raw screen too..

Im not sure what kind of car you have, but in my GS that area would be blocked by the shifter. If you're going for novelty it would work, but would not be very easy to see/watch. Also if you're going to have a screen you need a video source such as a dvd player, ps2 etc. Good luck.

well, i decided to do this right. im going to save up, yank the head unit i just bought and sell it (wish i planned ahead a little better)...then go and buy a head unit with a screen..that way it will have input for a tv tuner and ps2 and the install will be nice and clean. maybe get a small eq while im at it.

i wont have money saved up for another 1 month or so...so for now ill just be looking around for what to get. i was lookin into getting a used eclipse 7002, watcha guys think? (hows the fm reception with it on the gs..my alpines reception isnt all that great) also whats an affordable eq that adds the LEAST amount of noise into my system. no noise is my primary concern.

maybe i should make a diff post for this..ill see =)
