I was looking into a enclosure that aims the subwofer down. I wanted to be able to stack cargo on top of the box. anyone have any experience with this in a lexus GS trunk. I know they use this style for trucks. want a little more boom than the IB setup

as long as the box is designed correctly. Some Box designers will remove the factory sub and aim the port through the factory sub opening

Such a Box would still be so tall that there is not much more storage room than a conventional Sub Box.

I would advise a Flat Sub (like phase linear alliante or Helix esprit). Those subs have only 3-4" depth so you build a realy smal Enclosure (Maybe 7-8" tall).Let the sub face upwards and put a gutter above the Sub.
Then you have your demanded storage room with a proper 12" sub!

i decided to pich up a IDQ10 and drop it right in. I love my trunk space too much,

You also have to make sure the sound can travel out of the trunk what type of lexus you have if this enclosure will even work
