Personally, I dont think you really need/or want to port your box into the cabin. I ran this same question past alot of installers while putting together my system, and the general view was not to try to port it into the cabin(most said they have tried it with negative results). I have a JL12W6V2 in my GS with the box built up on the back ledge part of the trunk(up agianst the rear seat). The sub is facing out towards the back of the trunk. We took out the factory sub, leaving the hole open for the sound waves to enter the cabin, and their is something like two inches of space between the top of the box and the rear deck lid. You cant see the two inches of space when looking into the trunk, and the only reason that two inches is there is because their is other stuff up there not allowing the box to be flushed up to the top. The JL subs takes a pretty small volume box, so we flushed my sub amp into the box next to the sub itself to make everything look filled in correctly, and the box goes form one side of the trunk to the other forming a wall that flushes up. If that makes any sense to you! I will try to get some pics of it up for you. Most importantly, it sounds great, more than enough bass comes through to the cabin.

i have a box in my trunk now, and it sounds like it is the same shape as yours, runs the length of the trunk on the back area, the sub is also facing towards the back of the vechile, but i want to port the sound into the cabin so i can get rid of the trunk rattle
