stock sub location with aftermarket sub?
Hey CL i'm new to the forums and had some questions haha. I bought a 95 sc300 5 speed late October and was looking into the stock system and was wondering if i could use an after market sub with the stock sub location. I am not the best with wiring so that would help too ha.

Yes, you can. It depends if you have a Pioneer stock or the Nak. It will say it on the headunit. The difference is the Nak sub is 2ohm and the Pioneer is ???, but I know they are not the same in ohms, but in size, yes. Theother difference is the Pioneer has a seperate amp for the sub, and the NAK has an all in one. They both are size 10". Some have found that they had to dremel away some of the metal to get it properly. Dont get one too deep cause it will hit your gas tank.

Actually digging through my audio stuff right now...oh the horrors. Whoever had this car before me didn't give a damn about anything. He basically broke both door panels to get $60 4" speakers in. And the same 4" speakers are in the rear deck as well....stock sub is still here, but not working. The sound in general is trashy, but the speakers don't look to be blown. Going to keep the rear seats out of my car as well as the rear deck and everything else in the trunk until I can figure it out. I actually used to be good with car audio about 8 years ago. About time for a refresher course.
