Default Help: Alarm seems to be in valet mode

99 RX300 with factory security system. Accidentaly push the panic button and start beep..... and press twice the panic button again to stop the beep.... So, now the LED indicator light doesn't flash when you lock all the door using the remote or arm the security system, seems like it is in valet mode or disable the system. Any idea how to enable the security system again? I talk to one of Lexus tech and they said just to bring it because the vehicle doesn't have a valet mode. I also check the owners manual but cannot find the information I'm looking for.

this is a total shot in the dark, but maybe try puttimg the key in the ignition and try to arm and disarm the alarm, or try doing that with the key in acc. or start position

just an idea

Try this: You need both master keys to re-sync the registerd keys.

Insert First Master key in ignition and take it out.
Insert Second master key in ignition and take it out.

just insert the key for 2 sec and slide it out. Immediately (less than 6 sec) insert the second key.

I tried the arm and disarm putting the key in the ignition no luck. I will try salimshah's idea later on the day.

Can you go to your local dealer? They should do it free of charge.

Best advise at this time is to go or call the dealer.

I had called the dealer and service tech told me over the phone about sliding the keys. [It has been a while and I dont remember if there was any brake pedal squeeze sequence I had to do ... like turn ign to On, brake n times, turn off and slide the other key in]

Sorry to send you off on a wild goose chase. I would still suggest that take both the Master keys to the dealer for alarm problems.

Salim.
