Installed aftermarked sub in 99 ES300 and it is too quiet
My factory sub (nakamichi) was blown so I replaced it with a Kicker 10C84. It's an 8" 4 ohm single voice coil sub. I read around the forum before I bought it and it seemed to be a good sub for the stock sound system in the car but it is very quiet.
I know that the stock sub is 2 ohms and mine is 4 ohms and the problem does seem to be that the sub is not getting enough power. I have to turn the bass **** all the way up to produce much bass out of it.
Is there any remedy for this? Does the stock nakamichi amp have a gain control **** I can turn up or can I add a resistor to bring it down to 2 ohms and get more power to the sub?
