Alpine Power Pack to Replace Factory Amp
This maybe a longshot but I wanted to give this a try. My factory speaker amp on my 92 SC crapped out on me a couple days ago. I took the whole thing apart and found moister on the chipset of the amp. So my budget is very low on what I want to do with this car audio wise for now. I was looking into getting a replacement amp from a salvage yard or something but they were running me around $125. Ebay has them for $70-$80.
I had an idea of using the Alpine Power Pack and splice the wires that went to the factory amp and wire it up to the Alpine amp. I want to continue using my Factory head unit. Just wondering if this would be possible. Any theories are welcome. Also if anyone has actually done this what were any of the troubles you faced?

You could completely by pass the amp and have the deck pushing the speakers, or if you go the alpine route I would just be sure to splice in the correct side of the factory amp, since you have wires going in and coming out. Or simply put a line out converter behind the radio to have RCA's to the factory deck then add a better 4ch amp for the highs. or a 5channel amp if you want to add a sub too.
