Default Need help with colour coding for radio in 92 sc

Hi I'm new to this forum and don't really know how to use it that well.
I've been without a radio for the past 8 months because I can't seem to get this fixed. I believe my amp was fried that caused it to not work anymore . I want to rewire a new amp and put in a after market head deck and new amp
I can't seem to understand the colour coding for it though I can't really read a wiring diagram to be honest.
Here are my questions
Could I use my original speakers ? Or should I buy new ones
Is there somewhere on the Internet that would tell me what each wire represents ?
What do I need to know for installing a new head deck with amp ?
I tried taking it to a pro to do it but he gave me a ridiculous price that I cannot afford lol
I'm 19year old student that is in live with my SC !

This is a great DIY link. I also moved your thread to here. Most of the info can be found in this section.

Here is the link to the amplifier wiring in the back by the amp.

Here is another one:

Not sure which unit you have, but this will get you started in the right direction. If you have any questions, just ask. Metra makes a semi great kit for a double din or a single din radio now.

Take a look at this thread. Just noticed the above post already included the link. Sorry for reposting the link.

If you are replacing the head unit, then leave out the factory amp in the trunk all together. The link from Lextreme will give you the color code you need for ALL the speakers. Metra has a kit for a single and double din style now. They also have a nice plug and play harness for the SC. No more cutting and finding power wires and what not. I can help you if you have some basic knowledge of wiring. You can tap into ALL speakers from the rear, just use the plug that goes into the factory amplifier. If you don't want to cut the harness, then splice into it with T-taps. Google them if you don't know what they are. The stock speakers sound OK, but aftermarket are always better. The fronts are 4 inch and the rear are 5 1/4 inch without using the stock bracket. If you reuse the stock bracket in the rear, then use a nice pair of 4 inch. Kicker, Polk Audio, Infinity, and so on have great sound for cheap.... Keep us posted.
