what's your definition of "good enough". what's the reference. compared to my acura, yes the stock audio on my gs4 is awesome. but compared to a fixed up say alphine's car, of course it's nothing

so it depends on what you really want

It is arguably the best OEM system in the world in a mass produced car. But it does depend on your definition of "good enough".........certainly not difficult to get better and louder if that's your thing.

But the ML (and the Nak before it) are good enough for me these days.........

I have the optional 280 watt Nakamichi system in my '99 GS4 and I have to say it is awesome. I have never "left well enough alone" any stock audio system before, but this setup is more than adequate in terms of clarity, volume and frequency response. I'm sure you could drop 4 or 5 grand into something that would sound better, but you really don't need to.

Turn your mid to -4, treb to +4, bass to -6 and take out the factory 10". Then add 2 10"s in the trunk with a false wall and you will be set.

Default system

I had just recently added a system to my car. I love the way it sounds. It is a complete difference then the factory.

stock system owns, but i recommend disconnecting or removing the stock 10, when you turn it up the car shakes =\
add in something better in a sealed box, and it wont be too expensive if you can install the subs yourself
get your stuff off of the ebay stores, theyre super cheap
the rest of the system is pro, might want to replace tweeters too if you feel like it

I have Nakamichi, and for me, it's more than adequate. This is a great stock system.

I agree...there is nothing wrong with putting a little bump in your trunk and enhancing the surround sound.
