Question Question about mounting Optima batteries in the trunk

Gene maybe you know this one.

I need to mount a battery in my trunk. I want to mount a yellow top Optima, but the stereo shop I went to said that I have to put it in a sealed box and run a hose down through the trunk. (They say the optimas can give off a gas when they are charging.

Sealed boxes like either one of these:

or

Has anyone had to do this? And if you do have Optimas mounted in your trunk, did you have ventilation around the battery?

If I mount the battery it will behind a panel and won"t have hardly any breathing room (if it is needed).

My other option would be to just get a Stinger SP1000 battery and use that. (since the stereo shop it does not give off gas when charging)

And lastly if I just decided to use the Yellow top as my primary battery (replacing the stock one) would that be ok?

My system consists of a JL 1000/1 amp and a JL 300/4 amp.

Thanks,
Chris
