what unit to use with Alpine Navigation
i'm looking for a unit to use with the alpine navigation. It doesn't matter if its a flip up or a reciever with a seperate screen. I'm also looking for something with close to 7 inches or more. Thanks

For monitors look at the Alpine TME-M760 or smaller TME-M580.
For a motorized in-dash monitor look at the TME-M790.
For Alpine head units look at CVA-1003, CVA-1006 or IVA-C801.
Follow this link for complete product details on each model.

I'd only recommend Alpine, because like I told you in another message the dedicated RGB navigation input on these displays will give you the best navigation picture quality.

Thanks a lot. More and likely i will go with the TME-M790 flip up 7 inch screen plus the DVA-7996 In dash dvd/cd/reciever. also on some alpine units it said it has a dedicated navigation "INPUT" what difference does it make that it has this?? is it just the RGB connector?? or is it something else? for example the alpine IVA-C801

hey jmai,
remember, if you go with the tme-m790, you dont' get the radio function. it's a nice unit, but it's only for visual purposes only. You'd have to use another head unit as a radio.
VideoNavi is correct about the RGB input on Alpine models. IT's so easy to connect, and when you use an alpine head unit and alpine nav, you only need 1 remote. If you get another AV unit such as kenwood, and you're using an Alpine Nav, you'll have to purchase this wire from alpine so you can use the Nav on another head unit. This isn't cheap either. IT runs $80 and it's just another dent out of your wallet. Cost on that piece $55 from dealer. NOt worth it to me. I use to have the Eclipse 7301 and used the alpine KWE-100b or something like that to use the Nav from Alpine. Then I bought the IVA and the NVE nav together. IT's the best man. Hit me a PM if you want to check out my IVA in my car... you're more than welcome to. Also, if you need help installing it too...save ya at least $250...
