Default Total newbie question

Sorry guys.

I know this is a total newbie question, but here it goes anyway:

From what I've been reading, everyone is raving about the JL 10's as a direct replacement. Two questions:

1. Will I have to go with a mono amp to power the aftermarket one to sound good? ( I think I know the answer to this one)

2. I have some equipment laying around from my old competition car. A pair of Orion HCCA amps, caps, 4 12's (2 DVC Orions, 2 Kicker Free airs), Pioneer HU, Orion EQ, etc. Could I use what I have to sound better?

I don't want to start messing with my trunk space. I will only do it if I can somehow use one of my 12 IB's and maybe the amp to the factory HU AND NOT take up any of my trunk space. In other words, Can I put in the 12 in the place of the factory 10 and use one of my amps to power it w/o taking up trunk space????
