Question Nak Problem

My 92 LS400 has the the Nak sound system and has a problem with very low volume. (Volume wide open - barely a whisper from the speakers) This happened once before and I was able to fix by cleaning the contacts at the coupling boot under the rear sear (drivers side) - This time it doesn't seem to work.

I have checked the fuses in the panel under the steering wheel. I noticed one was listed as Radio 2 - but I have yet to find Radio 1

Also, where is the amp located?

Suggestions? Anyone else had this prob and found the answer?
It behaves like a short.....

Thanks! I want my NAK back!

i believe the radio #1 fuse is under the hood on the drivers side of the engine compartment under a black cover. the amp is located in the trunk on the drivers side behind the carpet.

Thanks... After an exhaustive Sunday afternoon search, here is where I am so far...

The problem seems to be in a pair of Black and Yellow wires (both are striped with silver paint every inch or so...) that are located in the wiring harness on the drivers side, just underneath the back seat.

When I touch either of these two wires together to make a circuit, my radio goes into mute mode. I have tried to trace the where these wires run, but I really need a wiring diagram.

All of my speakers work, with the exception of the rear drivers side door speaker. (So common sense would tend to indicate that the wires in question are for that speaker.) However, for the life of me, I can't figure why these wires would cause my radio to mute when properly connected????

Before, I go tearing into the door to confirm my suspicions, Can anyone confirm what these wires are for?

I would greatly appreciate your help!

Default Telephone Mute?

Does you car have (or used to have) the factory analog telephone? I believe there was a feature that muted the stereo when you picked up the phone, so those wires may be for the phone mute.

Thanks for the idea, but No Phone. Does anyone have access to a wiring diagram?
